The Story of Void Cat Store

Our story begins in Portugal, in 2020—a strange year for the world, but the perfect year for an idea powered by creativity, comfort, and a deep love for cats.

We started small. Just a handful of us, working late nights with laptops open, coffee mugs close by, and—without exception—at least two cats per team member walking across keyboards, napping on packaging materials, or supervising design decisions from the highest shelf in the room. If there was one thing we all had in common (besides creative ambition), it was that no one on the team had fewer than two cats. Some of us had three. One of us still insists four is “a reasonable number.”

The Void Cat Store was born from those quiet evenings—the mysterious silhouette that seems to appear out of nowhere, watching, judging, loving in its own strange way. We wanted to turn that feeling into something people could carry with them every day.

First came the Void Cat Phone Cases, made from soft TPU silicone—flexible, protective, and comfortable to hold. We wanted something practical, something people actually use constantly, but infused with personality. Seeing our design out in the world for the first time felt surreal.

Then we expanded into stainless steel water bottles—durable, sleek, and perfect for daily hydration. We imagined the Void Cat Store traveling everywhere: to the gym, to work, on hikes, across cities and continents.

Of course, we couldn’t ignore the most sacred ritual of all: coffee. That’s how our ceramic Void Cat mugs came to life. Strong, reliable, and made for slow mornings or late creative nights—just like the ones that built our store.

But one of the hardest decisions we ever made was committing to Free Worldwide Shipping. It sounds simple. It isn’t. As a small team starting out, the logistics were overwhelming. Shipping costs, international regulations, packaging challenges—it felt impossible at times. There were spreadsheets that made us nervous and long discussions fueled by far too much coffee.
